Summary: | Fishing port is an important infrastructure for fishing industry. As an
important infrastructure, fishing port need to be supported with good accessibility
and facilities in sufficient conditions. The objectives of this research are to
examine the influence of accessibility of PPI Ketapangs site and the condition of
existing facilities in relation to its utilization by user.
This research used quantitative deductive approach. This is a perseptually
exploration involving respondents using questionnaires and interview instruments.
Independent variables are the accessibility of PPI Ketapang include two aspects of
land and water accessibility, and condition of PPI Ketapangs facilities include
three kind of facilities (basic, functional and supporting facilities). Dependent
variable is level of user activities. Further, each independent variables was
examined its correlation with dependent variable, in order to get interpretation
about the influence of each independent variables to the level of user activities.
The research shows that water accessibility and condition of PPI
Ketapangs basic facilities are adequate, both variables have strong
correlation/influence to the level of user (fisherman) activities in PPI Ketapang.
Condition of PPI Ketapangs supporting facilities is adequate, but it does not have
correlation/influence to the level of user activities in PPI Ketapang, because of its
function as an additional service does not related to user activities directly.
Meanwhile, inland accessibility and condition of PPI Ketapangs
functional facilities are inadequate and unsupported, but these two variables does
not have correlation/influence to the level of user activities in PPI Ketapang,
because of an economic reason strongly affected. An Economic motivation was
emerged by factors such as
