| description | This study aims to analyze the inequality the region in the period 2003-
2010 in Jambi Province. The data used are secondary data include economic
growth, government spending in this capital expenditure, poverty, school
enrollment and path length. The analytical tool used in this research is to measure
inequality Williamson index and regression analysis of panel data models with
fixed effect estimation technique.
The results showed that the inequality of economic development in the
province of in Jambi obtained ranged from 0.36 to 0.40 Williamson index, with an
average of 0.39 which means that the inequality interregion/city in the province of
Jambi, including the category of being. Economic growth has no effect on
inequality and negative territory, capital expenditures and participation in school
and have positive effect on inequality, poverty has no effect on inequality and
have positive, long road, and the negative effect on inequality. The coefficient of
determination shown by the R-square of 0.9678 indicates that the variation of
independent variables in the model can explain the variation in the level of
inequality in the period 2003-2010 in Jambi by 96.78 per cent, 3.22 per cent of
remaining is explained by other variables outside model. |
