cause of the rice land conversion in Tangerang regency, determine the impact
ofland conversion to paddy rice production in the frame work of food security in
Tangerang regency until 2015.
Research using quantitative and qualitative methods to quantitative
secondary data collection from spatial planning department, Animal Husbandry
and Agriculture department, Food Security Agency and the Central Statistics
Agency (BPS) Tangerang regency. To complement the quantitative data the
authors apply the method of qualitative research interviews with the parties who
are competent and with the farmers, so as to further clarify the content of this
thesis.
The results showed that, over the function of paddy fields in the district of
Tangerang from year to year continues to increase, it is influenced by changes
inthe economic structure and improving infrastructure facilities and high
population growth. Extensive wet land significantly affect the increase in rice
production in total, while the area of land converted to rice fields has not been
able to prove the non-effect of reducing the total rice production in Tangerang
regency if technology of farmers and intensification of farmers do it, but when
connected to the fulfillment of the needs of the Tangerang District of rice is still
lacking, so that Tangerang regency government had to buy rice from other regions
(eg Cianjur, Subang, Karawang and etc) to meet those needs |
