Summary: | The study put emphasis on the application of prudent lending principle at
PT. (Persero) Permodalan Nasional Madani of Yogyakarta Branch Office. This is
due to the fact that credit is one of the government programs intended to boost the
development of UMKMK, the disbursement of which requires no additional
collateral. The focus of the study included the efforts of PT. (Persero) Permodalan
Nasional Madani of Yogyakarta Branch Office to minimize the Non-Performing
Loan (NPL).
The study is legal-empirical in nature, which means that it emphasis is in
the field work to obtain the primary data. Complementary to this study is the
secondary data, which consist of the primary and secondary legal materials. The
collected data were analyzed qualitatively and presented using the method of
descriptive analysis.
The results indicate that PT. (Persero) Permodalan Nasional Madani of
Yogyakarta Branch Office applied the 5Cs: Character, Capacity, Capital and
Condition, and monitors the financial statements and operation of the debtor on a
periodical basis, in accordance with the enacted provision, and tighten the
collateral quality assessment. The efforts by PT. (Persero) Permodalan Nasional
Madani of Yogyakarta Branch Office in minimzing the non-performing loan
(NPL) by setting the legal lending limits by considering the condition of debtor in
terms of security to asses its capacity and economic condition..
