specific aspects relating to the quality of life including the growth process to a
child in infancy, toddler or teen.
The purpose of this study was to determine how much influence the progress
of pharmacist counseling outcomes in pediatric asthma patients aged 5-12 years.
This study is quasi experimental design with pre and post test without control.
Subjects were patients with asthma aged 5-12 years old children who come to the
Center for Lung Disease Treatment (BP4) Yogyakarta with a diagnosis of asthma.
Treatment given for the provision of counseling to child asthma patients who
come to the Balai Pengobatan Penyakit paru-Paru (BP4) Yogyakarta during the
period February to April 2012. Asthma counseling given to patients through an
intermediary parents or witnesses who deliver treatment to patients BP4
Yogyakarta.
The success of counseling is indicated by a decrease in the frequency of asthma
attacks for a period of 1 month after the previous counseling.
During February-April 2012 total of 30 study subjects acquired pediatric asthma
patients aged 5-12 years with asthma over 5 years and less than 5 years. A total of
30 child patients with asthma have lower levels of parental education are different
and have different therapies.
Results showed that boys are more commonly affected with asthma than girls.
Pharmacist counseling can reduce the frequency of asthma attacks in children who
suffer from asthma more than 5 years (p = 0.000) and less than 5 years (p =
0.008). Progress therapy results are affected by long exposure to asthma (p =
0.024) but was not affected by the level of parental education (witness) and the
type of treatment received by patients. |
