description | Supplements have been consumed in order to maintain health and became
mandatory daily agenda for some people. The aim of this study to identify the
development of behavioral models of supplements among college students used
the theory of planned behavior with variable moderation level of knowledge.
The research was conducted using judgmental sampling method.
Respondents were taken as 264 respondents (132 respondents of pharmacy
students and 132 respondent of non-pharmacy student) who tested different levels
of knowledge. This study used a questionnaire with Likert scale as a means of
collecting data. Data were analyzed by using the Multigroup Structural Equation
Modelling (MSEM) using the software LISREL 8:54.
The results showed that the intention was affected significantly by attitude
toward the behavior in the non-pharmacy students (t-value 2,69) but not
significantly in the pharmacy students (t-value 0,85). Intention was affected
significantly by subjective norm in the pharmacy students (t-value 0.85) and nonpharmacy
students (t-value 2.69). Intention was affected significantly by
perceived behavioral control in the pharmacy students (t-value 4.00) but not
significantly in the non-pharmacy students (t-value 1.30). Behavior in consuming
supplements was affected significantly by intention in the pharmacy students (tvalue
2.52) but not significantly in the non-pharmacy students (t-value 1.17).
Behavior was affected by perceived behavioral control significantly in the nonpharmacy
students (t-value 2,75) but not significantly in the pharmacy students (tvalue
-0,69). Behavior was not affected significantly by attitude toward behavior
in the pharmacy students (t-value 0.65) and non-pharmacy students (t-value -
1.16). The level of knowledge (objective and subjective knowledge) was affected
significantly as a variable moderation to the model of behavior in consuming
supplements indicated by the significant differences between the base model and
an alternative, which model chi-square count (35.60) is greater than the chi-square
table (34.38) with p=0, 10. |
