The data used in this study is secondary data. Which consisting of of inflation
rate in Timor Leste, the movement of WTI crude oil prices, oil revenues and gross
receipts Timor Leste's oil. The analytical tool used in this research is descriptive
analysis and multiple linear regression analysis using the least squares method
(Ordinary Least Square/OLS).
Inflation is happening in Timor Leste becomes interesting to be
investigated because until 2012 the central bank not yet run the monetary policy.
In this research find that the inflation in East Timor derived by petroleum gross
earnings revenue of oils productions which reached to 1.29 percent. As well, also
found that on certain month namely December and January were very significant
inflation of 1.17 percent. As a country whose domestic production still not many.
Hence, Timor Leste in fulfilling their needs have to import from other countries.
However, the research proved although many imported goods into the country but
the variable is not significant effect on the rate of inflation in the country of Timor
Leste. Than, research also prove international oil prices have not effect into Timor
Leste inflation. And the same applies to the acquisition of income from oil sales
are not also affect inflation in Timor Leste.. |
