Manaqib of Syaikh Abdul Qadir Jailani related about the personal life of
Syaikh Abdul Qadir Jailani from his childhood until his death with the miracle
stories of the figure. Manaqib of Syaikh Abdul Qadir Jailani in the culture of
Javanese society regarded not only as an ordinary literature work. In the culture of
Banten society, the reading of Manaqib Syaik Abdul Qadir Jailani supposed to be
beneficial to protect the readers from jeopardizes � due to karamah SAQJ-. In the
culture of littoral society of Java, Manaqib Syaikh Abdul Qadir Jailani read in a
reciting tradition that full of sanctity. The research to Manaqib Syaikh Abdul
Qadir Jailani addressed to find out the reception of the people of Wareng village,
Butuh, Purworejo to Manaqib Syaikh Qadir Jailani both as personal and
communal.
To achieve the aim, researcher used theory of literature reception and theory
of literature sociology. Reception approach used to investigate the response of the
society to Manaqib Syaikh Abdul Qadir Jailani, while the approach of literature
sociology used to find the functions of Manaqib Syaikh Abdul Qadir Jailani in the
society. As for the reception method that had been used in this study is
experimental method. The experimental method carried out by distributing
questioners to 33 people who carried out the tradition of reciting Manaqib Syaikh
Abdul Qadir Jailani and using structured interview to five readers of Manaqib
Syaikh Abdul Qodir Jailani in Wareng village, Butuh, Purworejo.
From this study could be concluded that the first teaching congregation of
teachers affects the reception the actors of the tradition of reciting Manaqib
Syaikh Abdul Qadir Jailani. This is evidenced by the fact that the majority of
actors of the tradition of reciting Manaqib Syaikh Abdul Qadir Jailani not
understand what they read, but judging manakib as a book that contains many
faidah. Belief in faidah, obtained from teachers their order. Second, the ritual
reading of Manakib Syaikh Abdul Qadir Jilani by the actors of tradition of
reciting manakib aligned with worship. Third, the miracle story that related in the
Manaqib Syaikh Abdul Qadir Jailani by the actors of the tradition of reciting of
manaqib in Wareng village regarded true and believed as the karomah of SAQJ
that given by Allah the Almighty. Fourth, Manaqib Syaikh Abdul Qadir Jailani
by the Javanese society especially the people of Wareng Villlage, functioned as
ritual means, as biographical-historical. |
