Gamal (Gliricidia sepium) which was planted for degraded land rehabilitation has dominated vegetation in compartment 5 and 6 of Wanagama I Education Forest. Compartment 5 and 6 have different age of stands, so there is a possibility differences in the addition of soil organic matter and soil microorganisms, namely fungi and bacteria. The purposes of this study were to evaluate the abundance of bacteria and fungi on litter and soil under gamal stands aged 26 and 42 years during the dry season in the Wanagama I Education Forest and the effect of slopes and soil depth. The research was conducted by a survey method in 42 (compartment 5) and 26 (compartment 6) years old gamal stands in dry season. In each compartment, 3 plots were establihed to represent 3 different slope positions (upper, middle and lower) and the each slope position was replicated 3 times. In each plot there were 2 sampling point of litter and soil. The soil samples were taken from 3 soil depths (0-10, 10-20 and 20-30 cm). Abundance of bacteria and fungi were counted using Plate Count method. Data were analyzed using quantitative descriptive statistics. Abundance of bacteria and fungi in the litter under gamal stands at age 26 and 42 years varied according to slope position. Abundance of total bacteria in the litter under stand at age 26 years the middle slope showed the highest number of bacteria compared with other slope (top and bottom)
