Summary: | Community forest is one of the community based forest management as
well as individual and social activity. Self-supporting community forest is built by
its own society from the planning, implementation, until funding. The success of
each community forest�s farmers group in managing a forest depends on the
participation of the society. Institutional development is one way to improve the
management quality, to create society welfare, and also to preserve the
environment sustainability. The purpose of this research is to determine the
structures and dynamics of farmers group toward community forest�s
management, and also to determine the forms and activities of institutions and
institutions alternative development
This study using a qualitative approach, the method of descriptive case
studies, describing the phenomena that exist either natural or manmade. Analysis
of the data used in this study with data collection, data reduction method, data
presentation, and conclusion. Collection techniques through in-depth interviews,
participant observation, and Documentation Studies.
The results of this research show that Jatimulyo Farmers Group
structurally is modern farmers group. The decision is made by consensus and by
the entire farmers group member reached agreement. There are no binding written
rules or sanctions, the rules are verbal. The existence of institutions is aspirate
enough to take in and accommodate problems, and also the society yet the
member interests. Development of alternative priority is making a plan of action
to improve work performance, as well as program design and evaluation activities
and establish a responsibility in it.
