and quality of Productions. One of the most noted aspects of the efforts to increase the amount of
production and the quality of the results is the use of superior cocoa clones.
This study aimed to determine the incidence and intensity of mosaic disease, variations in
symptoms, transmission through grafting, and testing of disease transmission through seeds with
growing on test techniques. Parameters observed in the study is to calculate the percentage of the
disease severity of plants, calculates the disease intensity, and count the number of infected
plants through grafting.
Field observations indicate that the average of disesae severity was 70.42%, while the
disease incident ranged from 49.4 to 99.4%. The test results demonstrate the success of grafting
60% of plants infected with mosaic disease of cocoa. Test transmission through seeds were
unable to obtain plants typical mosaic symptoms such as pain parent plants producing seeds so
concluded that the disease transmitted through seeds. |
