Summary: | Research on growth of common carp fry Cangkringan and Majalaya
strain aimed to determine on the growth of fry Cangkringan and Majalaya strain
on the first and second rearing stage. This study was designed to completely
randomized design (CRD) with three replications each treatment. Treatment of
the first rearing using stocking density of 100, 150 and 200 individuals/m², but the
treatment of the second rearing using stocking density of 50, 75 and 100
individuals/m². The first rearing maintenance for 15 days, but the second rearing
for 20 days. Parameters observed include absolute growth, specific growth rate,
survival rate, feed conversion ratio, variation in the growth and water quality. The
results on the first rearing (aged 5-20 days), using stocking density of 100, 150
and 200 individuals/m² showed no effect of treatment on growth (P>0.05), both
Cangkringan and Majalaya strain. The results on the second rearing (aged 20-40
days), using stocking density of 50, 75 and 100 individuals/m² showed the effect
of treatment on survival rate of Majalaya strain (P<0.05), and variations in the
length and weight of Cangkringan strain (P<0.05).
