| Summary: | This study aims to identify trends in reporting at the Kedaulatan Rakyat
daily newspaper about news of soybean import cost sharp increases news and
understanding of the news discourse through discourse analysis models Teun A.
Van Dijk. In this discourse analysis, media are not just reporting what happened,
but also constructing of these reality. The reader is directed to understand the
meaning of the shown conspicuousness the facts or hide some other facts. Model
of van Dijk's research approach with elements of discourse structure thematic,
schematic, semantic, syntactic, stylistic, and rhetorical. The study was conducted
by taking samples of 9 sampels on Kedaulatan Rakyat daily newspaper
publication period July-August 2012, consist of 5 hardnews and 4 feature news.
The results showed that in the news there are three stakeholders, there are the
farmers, the government, and the tofu and tempeh artisans. News tendency leads
to alignments Kedaulatan Rakyat daily newspaper to tofu tempeh artisans, which
is indicated by more frequent review news about the condition of artisans who
suffered losses. News of his review more detail craftsmen and contains nuances of
human interest to draw the reader empathy. News of the government and farmers
informed with a lower frequency and less detail than the news about craftsmen.
