Summary: | Yogyakarta City Government with the reality of the development of
science made a breakthrough with the development of Taman Pintar
launched a program to close the gap between the technological
developments that are exact with science-based culture to students and the
public through Regulation mayor of Yogyakarta. 17 of 2006. Establishment
Policy Taman Pintar Yogyakarta as a breakthrough in the development of
ways of learning outside of school.
The background of this research is to evaluate whether the
management of Taman Pintar is in accordance with the vision and mission
set, seeing how the barriers and support to Taman Pintar, and user
perception Taman Pintar. The purpose of this research is to identify the
problem and provide management recommendations for the better. In this
study using several theories including the theory of public policy, theory of
learning by doing, and inovasion educational theory.
This study uses descriptive qualitative research approach. To get a
clear picture of data collection is done through observation, interviews, and
documentary study. The survey results revealed that the management of the
Taman Pintar can not be carried out by professionals refer to the vision and
mission of the Taman Pintar. It can be seen from the civil bureaucracy
Taman Pintar often change rapidly, the use of existing resources such as
learning aids have not been used optimally and not treated properly and
regularly, but it can be seen from the high prices of tickets that must be
purchased by visitors to enjoy all the facilities that exist in Taman Pintar.
