Description
Summary:BNI is the first and oldest commercial bank in Indonesia and it has a historical significance in Indonesian banking industry. It was the first bank that circulates the first Indonesian money, becoming a central bank, changed into development bank, and later became foreign reserve service. In the present banking landscape, banks including BNI have entered a new stage of competition where regulators played more roles and new entrants have increased the numbers of competitors. This thesis aims to assess what are the strengths, weaknesses, oportunities, and threats of BNI, what corporate competitive strategies are employed by BNI and how competitive is BNI compared to its key rivals in the current banking industry, and also to recognize what are the key success factors possessed by BNI to face the increasing competition in the banking sector. The analysis will use financial indicators from annual reports and interviews. Information taken from annual reports will be used as quantitative data for the four quadrants in the competing value framework analysis. The four quadrants consisted of Control Quadrant to measure Quality and Efficiency, Compete Quadrant to measure Profit and Speed, Create Quadrant to measure Growth and Innovation, and Collaborate Quadrant to measure Knowledge and Community.
