Summary: | In the era of globalization happening today, it has demanded for companies
to actively think to develop a business strategy in the face of increasingly fierce
competition. Increased business competition is felt by PT Indobara Bahana as its
Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) for gas, fire protection, and
environmental solutions in Indonesia. Increased competition is with the entry
conditions of pump products and fire protection equipment from China, the
emergence of new players, and the improvement or development of the business
done by business competitors.
This study aimed to evaluate the business strategy of PT Indobara Bahana�s
EPC business in the face of competition for pumps, fire protection, and
environmental solutions in Indonesia. In the evaluation, analysis related to
industrial environmental conditions (analysis of porter's five model), and the
internal and external environment (SWOT analysis) with data source interviews,
questionnaires, and literature was conducted.
The results showed that the business strategy adopted by PT Indobara
Bahana have good business in the face of competition in the industry. This is
evidenced by the correspondence between the results of the analysis carried out by
research and strategy of firm that has been planned. But the ultimate goal to
achieve the sales target has not been achieved. Target in not achieved due to
internal factors that do not support completely in the form of tools and
technologies. PT Indobara Bahana is recommended so a planned strategy is run
with monitoring system of the strategy, and focus on the needs of both internal
and external customers.
