| Summary: | A plant layout of a company will affect the efficiency of their production.
Even more in the long run will be able to have an impact on corporate performance. If the plant layout condition considered good, it will be a company�s competitive advantages. In this study, researchers conducted an evaluation of the Adiyaksa Gloves plant layout. While the goals of this research is to understand the onsiderations in determining the company's plant layout, identified the plant layout of Adiyaksa Gloves recently, also did evaluation and see the development in Adiyaksa Gloves plant layout to see the impacts on Adiyaksa Gloves� efficiency in terms of distance movement of goods or products and material handling costs.
The research method was using the observation and interviews with company directors and heads of production to determine the company's plant layout problems. Both methods are also used in the data collection process. For the data processing, this research used CRAFT algorithms. The process of analysis itself was done using software named WinQSB. In the end of the research there will be the comparison of the conditions of the current plant layout with plant layout iteration results. Further eligibility decisions are based on factory layout technical aspects such as reducing the displacement distance. It is also assessing the feasibility of plant layout in terms of financial aspects such as the cost of movement of goods and the estimated payback period of investment if done to improve plant layout.
This study will reinforce the important role of a good plant layout.
Therefore, companies need to make certain considerations in making the plant
layout. The results of this study indicate that if the initial layout repairs in accordance with the proposed layout will provide savings for the company by 28.9% would distance moving material and also the cost of movement of goods.
Based on the technical and financial aspects, it shows that the layout of the research results deserves to be applied by the company because it can improve the efficiency of the company.
