Summary:This study aimed to determine the extent the maintenance of heavy equipment performed by the offices bina marga, irrigating energy resource mineral of Kabupaten Kabupaten Kudus. In this research, data used are primary data by using the purposive sampling technique with 35 respondents consist of all official staff, operator, and the heavy equipment mechanics in the Public Works Department of Kabupaten Kudus and secondary data. The method used in this research is the qualitative descriptive anaysis. Variables used are maintenance program, maintenance budget, human resources, operational working hours, spare parts, and supervision. These variables were measured by using Likert Scale and analysed by using the Importance Performance Analysis (IPA). The result of this research indicated that the implementation of heavy equipment performed by the bina marga, irrigating energy resource mineral of Kabupaten Kudus have not optimally implemented. Based on the IPA analysis result, this happened because there are five variables that are have not optimal based on the repondents perception and three variables in the quadrant A. The problem was the lack of heavy budget maintenance budgeting, the lack of number of heavy equipment operators and mechanics, coupled with the lack of knowledge of operators and mechanicss in handling the heavy equipment and the incompatibility of the use of heavy equipments spare parts. But still there is one variable that has good performance that is maintenance equipment, which performance has to be maintained.
