description House of Tolaki is one of the traditional house in Southeast Sulawesi, creative work of local community that has existed since the Buddhist era to the era of Islamic influence. Tolaki houses that still survive today own local cultural values, as still reflected in their ways to behave, attitudes, beliefs and customary activities that were formed from typical cultural values prevailing in the traditional community of Tolaki. Additionally Tolaki house is the embodiment of human creations in the by their of a container or space along with its constituent elements containing meaning and cannot be separated from nature and environmental adaptation. This study aims to find concepts that make up the house of Tolaki. House of Tolaki as a built environment that is formed by the physical elements associated with a physical space and its constituent elements as containers, as well as non-physical element that is associated with typical activity on tribal house Tolaki. This research used in the methods phenomenology. Phenomenological paradigm basic requires researcher to be in the field without using of the theory, thus enabling the development of the study based on the themes that are found during the field (Muhadjir, 1993). Researchers went to the field equipped only with an understanding of the concept of ethnic-cultural Tolaki in viewing the phenomena that occur. Theories in form of theoretical literature only used as background knowledge in understanding phenomena in the field and not as literature or standard tool for studying the phenomenon in the field. The research resulted that the basic concept of the traditional Tolaki house. Which influenced by the Buddhism and Islamic culture. Still existed it is reflected by of artifacts, traditional and ritual the symbols activities which belongs to the traditional Tolaki house. The changes of the traditional Tolaki house. Are caused by the changes of daily activities that refers to the contemporary life style. Changes occurring in Tolaki House are the use of local building materials such as wood, bamboo and sago leaves and the using of space. Kalosara which is found at Tolaki House is the basic concept Tolaki house with the inclusion of Islamic culture that had a profound influence on the kingdom Konawe. It is reflected by the orientation of qibla, front back to include the gender systems and social stratification.
