Summary:Allergic rhinitis is most common chronic disease among children and the prevelance tend to increase not only in west country but also in developing country. Allergic rhinitis remains a significant pediatric health problem because of burden of uncontrolled on daily activities and on general well being. The assessment of health-related quality of life (HRQOL) in children with allergic rhinitis is particularly important. Quality of life is one parameter to assess the efficacy of medical intervention . The aim of this study to determine severity of allergic rhinitis and health-related quality of life (HRQL) in children A cross-sectional study was conducted in Sardjito General Hospital from January 2013 to April 2013. Fifty one children were enrolled in this study with age range from 6-15 years-old. The PedsQLTM 4.0 Generic ( Indonesian version) were administered to measure Health-related quality of life (HRQL)the patients and their parents perspective. The mean (SD) of total summary score from child self report and parent proxy report were76,73 9,00 dan 69,34 11,52. The school functioning subscale had the lowest score. There was correlation between severity of allergic rhinitis and health-related quality of life(p =0,032) and had strong correlation (Spearman�s correlation coefisien 0,832) There is a correlation between allergic rhinitis and impairment health related quality of life (HRQL) in pediatric patients
