Summary: | Pesticide residues contained in food from livestock may harm humans
health if it exceeds the predetermined threshold, therefore we need to develop
analysis research of pesticide residues. One of the pesticide residues commonly
used in food from livestock is deltamethrin. This research was aimed at validating
the method analysis of deltamethrin using High Performance Liquid
Chromatography (HPLC) based on specificity, precision, limit of detection, limit
of quantification, and linearity. The main instrument used in this research was a
set of High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) with brand of
Shimadzu version 6.1 which is the property of Pharmacology Laboratory, Faculty
of Veterinary Medicine of UGM with the colomn used was C18, wavelength of
236 nm and the flow of 1.25 ml/min. Phases of mobile used in this research was
80% acetonitrile in aquabidest.
The results showed the average of peak area for each concentration
0,5 µg/ml, 1 µg/ml, 2 µg/ml, 5 µg/ml, and 10 µg/ml, were 18255.33, 47142,
64181.33, 204269, and 395918, with a linear equation of y = 39819x-1146,1 and
R = 0,998. Limit of detection was at concentration 0,1 µg/ml, and limit of
quantification was at concentration of 0.5 µg/ml. Chromatogram showed the peak
area which is obviously separated from other substances. It can be concluded that
the method used has good validity as seen from spesificity, precision, LOD, LOQ,
and linearity.
