domestic animals. Flies tend to inhabit in dirty places the remaining results from
human activities such as animal manure or human, animal carcasses and piles of
garbage. Flies become an important concern in the medical world for its role as
vectors of pathogenic organisms, including parasites. The purpose of this study
was to determine the parasites were found on the externally and internally
examination of the body flies from transfer depot in Dusun Klebengan
Caturtunggal Depok Sleman Yogyakarta.
A total 100 flies were collected from transfer depot in Dusun Klebengan and
then taken to the Parasitology Laboratory of Fakultas Kedokteran Hewan
Universitas Gadjah Mada for examination. The examination of the external body
of flies was done by washing method and centrifugation. The examination of the
internal body of flies was done by dissection method.
The result of this study, parasites were found on the examination of the
external bodies of flies by washing and centrifugation methods were phoretic
mites. Parasite was found on the examination of the internal bodies of flies by
dissection method was strongyle nematode egg. |
