description The research was conducted to study the microscopic figures of the density of collagen in the dog skin incision wound that treated by hexane fraction ointment of binahong leaf extract 5% and 10% concentration. Four (4) local female dogs, aged 4-6 months were used in this research. The dogs adapted for 1 week and given anthelmintic of ivermectin. Incisions made after adaptation was completed, as much as 3 incisions (group A, B and C) on each dog on the right side of the abdomen with a 6 cm along the vertical direction. The group A incision wounds as the control group given no treatment, the group B incision wounds given a treatment of ointment binahong leaf extract 5% hexane fraction and the group C incision wounds given ointment treatment binahong leaf extract 10% hexane fraction. At day 14th, tissue samples of wound healing which has been linked, taken measuring 2 x 2 cm, put into formalin 10% then sent to the Laboratory of Histology Faculty of Veterinary Medicine for making a preparations of histology with Trichrome Mallory staining. The results showed that microscopic examination of collagen density in group B and group C is more dense than in group A. Statistical analysis using the T-test showed that there is no significant differences between the control and 5% treatment binahong leaf extract ointment (P>0.1), but significantly different (P<0.1) between the control group and the treatment 10% ointment binahong leaf extract and between 5% binahong leaf extract ointment treatment group with 10. Based on the results and discussion, it could be concluded that the density of collagens in the treatment group binahong leaf extract ointment (5% and 10%) were higher than in the control group. Results of group C (10%) have the best results. Binahong leaf extract ointment with a concentration of 10% recommended as a medication of skin wounds.
