Summary: | Phyton reticulatus is one of wildlife used as pet. Enrofloxacin is an
synthetic antibiotic belong to fluoroquinolon and having broad spectrum work
against Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria. Enrofloxacin has never been
reviewed about its efication in vitro. The aim of this research is to find out the
limits of sensitivity of Salmonella sp. isolated from Phyton reticulatus against
enrofloxacin and to know the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC).
Studies using respectively ten samples swab the mouth and cloaca and
blood samples in eppendorf tubes that has been given Heparin and EDTA.
Samples taken from ten sick snakes. The samples were isolated and identified
used the Brilliant Green Agar (BGA), MacConkey Agar (MCA), Tripton Sugar
Iron (TSI), and Nutrient Agar and as well as the sensitivity test.
The results of sensitivity test of Salmonella isolate was sensitive to
enrofloxacine, while the minimum inhibitory concentration value was 0,25 μg/ml
 0,3 μg/ml.
