Summary: | Body Condition Score (BCS) is a method to evaluate the body condition
of cows according to its nutrition. This research was organized in order to identify
the relationship of Body Condition Score (BCS) on the reproduction performance
of the cow in which the evaluation of the reproduction performance including
puberty, Calving Interval (CI), Estrus Post Partus (EPP), period of estrus cycle,
and the Service per Conception (S/C). Questionnaire method which covered
questions about the evaluation of reproductive performance of the cow, and
interview to the farmer or a owner, and 2 cows with BCS 1, 10 cows with BCS 2,
and 10 cows with BCS 3 were used in this research. The determination of BCS
have done by observing the hook, pin, tailhead, and the rib of the cows. The result
showed that cows on BCS 2 and BCS 3 have a reproduction performance normal
as reported, but cows on BCS 1 had lower reproduction performance. It�s
concluded based on this research, BCS have a relationship on the reproduction
performance of beef cattle.
