reported able to accelerate the wound healing by topical application. This study
was aimed to determine the effect of zinc to the number of fibroblasts during
wound healing phase in Sprague Dawley rat given high-fat diet . Thirty two rat
were used in this study. The rat were allotted into four groups (A, B, C, and D) of
four. Group A and B were given normal feed, while group C and D were given
high-fat diet. Rats were anaesthetized and a skin) incision was made in the right
dorsal part aseptically, then it approximattly 2cm. After surgery, groups A and C
were given vaseline ointment on the wound, while groups B and D were given
zinc 10% ointment every day. At the first day four rats werw taken from each
group for biopsy. Then skin tissue was fixed in neutral buffered formaline(NBF)
10 % for histopathology preparation with haematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining. At
the third day, the same treatment performed on the remaining rats. Fibroblasts
calculation was performed on six fields of view around the incision area with
100x magnification. The results showed that the number of fibroblasts at third day
was significantly higher (P <0.05) than the first day. |
