make the building collapse. One example for soil work embankment which was
carried out the work to determine the degree of soil compaction density of the soil
compaction results.
The growing age of technology is increasing, including for field
measurements of soil density. Besides using sandcone method now there is a
method of measuring the nuclear method that uses radioactive cesium 137 and
americium type 241: Berylium. The purpose of this test is to obtain the value of
soil density and moisture content using sandcone and Troxler 3430.
Based on the test reports in the field for soil density using sandcone and
Troxler 3430 it was found that there were irregularities that Troxler is not suitable
for this type sandy soil of exception to the water content due to deviation (R)
approaches 1. And calibration Troxler and sandcone �d, x = 12.26%, y = 5.98%
for sand, x = 8.38%, y = 2.25% for the sandy loam, and x = 6.38%, y = 2.14% for
the loam. Advantages when using sandcone is that cost relatively cheaper but it
take longer time, while for the testing of nuclear densitometer with a Troxler 3430
time needed faster but more expensive. |
