The fort function as a wall defence is no longer available because the land use changes of the area surrounding the fort. Yogyakarta State Government is considering to revitalize any cultural heritages that have historical value. Preservation form to be done is by clearing the building on the outside and inside area and expecting reconstruction on missing fort parts. Early stage to assist the revitalization process are identifying and inventorying information of land use located along the fort former area. Orthophoto data usage, as an application of remote sensing, is to facilitate the development of inventory map of land use as a reference in revitalization process.
The first step in inventory map construction is image cutting and area cutting by using Administration and Basic Map of Yogyakarta Area. It is then followed by visual image interpretation based on a classification scheme and element of image interpretation. To assure the accuracy of visual interpretation, an accuracy test was implemented. The next step is editing and topology construction. Reconstruction process was done by delineating the former border of the Kraton fort based on the data measured on the image and on the field. To determine the ditch location, buffering technique was done 4 meters in width along the fort according to the fort history. Then fort reconstruction and buffer results were overlayed with trusted land use interpretation result.
The result shows that 23,64% of the fort is complete while the rest is incomplete. The total number of building surrounding Kraton fort are 907 and 902 buildings based on image interpretation and field check respectively. By using overlay technique, the identified land use are settlement (49,99%), trade (28,77%), service (2,81%), recreation (1,47%), religious (1,06%), transport and communication (15,62%), and vacant land (0,29%). From the spatial analysis having been conducted, it can be concluded that the type of land use to be affected by revitalization are settlement, trade, service, religious and vacant land. |
