Now, many mass production of motorcycle made from Japan and China with
optional engine other. However, onthel survived by loyal paddlers. Now this thing
more than a bicycle because interested and collected by bike communities and
hunted with many curators. It is a Onthel bike lover community in Magelang
called by Old Bikers VOC (Velocipede Old Classic) become field study in this
paper. Along with the raise of creativity in this community called by Wayang
Onthel in 2006. For entertained and expressed their aspiration. Wayang Onthel is
not just art but have meaning a symbolical code. This paper is to determine the
original formation of community from their improvement. Furthermore, to
observe how the VOC identities to improve their existences for engage next
challenges as optimization limited condition.
The dynamic of community almost has 10 years old as alternative
form of group (sub-culture). The existence of VOC as community form have
social relationship. This study was conducted in several locations the town of
Magelang, Central Java. The process of data collection using qualitative research
method with technical observation of participant, indepth interview with couples
informants noted for member of VOC as well as Wayang Onthel social worker
and literature review.
The result of this study indicates that VOC and Wayang Onthel
able to provide perspective and alternative attitude towards a part of perspective
from dominant attitudes in society. The VOC keep running and saves their
identity of antiquity in the more of modern life. |
