implemented in promotive and preventive way, so that it makes a complete health care. The
Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia in 2000 has published a handbook of hospital health
counseling. Even in Europe health promoting hospital network has developed. Bethesda Hospital is
a big private hospital that has a concern for public health that could be seen from the existence of
Usaha Peningkatan Kesehatan Masyarakat (UPKM) - Effort to Increase Public Health / Community
Development (CD) and the formation of PKMRS team though until now are not sustained. Based
on particular policies PKRS can continue to work.
Research Goal. The goal of this research is to explore the policies and the health promoting
activities in Bethesda hospital as a private hospital.
Research Method. This research applied a qualitative method, that involved five informen. The
data was collected by doing indepth interview, observation and secondary data study. The
samples were taken by having purposive sampling. The data was analyzed by making the
transcript, coding, interpreting, triangulation and member check.
Research Result. The policies related to PKRS in Bethesda hospital have been developed since
the hospital was first established with health care service made based on comprehensive and
holistic love, as mentioned in the philosophical fundamental of Yakkum that is broken down into its
strategic plans and is applied in its daily health care service activities. PKRS activities in Bethesda
hospital are complete and well developed.
Recommendation. This research recommends the formation of working unit or special team that
organizes PKRS in Bethesda hospital. By having this special working unit it is hoped that the unit
can make the plans, do the socialization, do the programs with an excellent coordination and
evaluation on the running. To The Ministry of Health, it is recommended to increase the human
resources in state and private hospitals to develop PKRS program. To other researchers, it is
recommended to do a further research with more variables. |
