Summary: | This Graduation Paper contains the short stories written by Kaoru
Kitamura, Kuma no Namae and Sasori no Ido. The writer chose both of them
because they are attractive and easy to be translated.
In the translating process, the writer applied the communicative method
to keep the proper contextual meaning of the source language so both language
and content can be acceptable to the reader.
The writer found difficulties during the translation process. One of them
is to find the proper meaning from existing vocabulary. Therefore, to solve this
problem, the writer read reference book and asked to Japanese people. For
example: the word hasami. It means scissor in the Japanese dictionary, but in the
context of the text, it refers to the bite (of the scorpion or crab).
