Summary: | Rambak cracker is one of snacks which Indonesian people like to
consume and usually becomes the complement for any food. The basic
problem in cracker industry management is on the drying process. One of the
dryer which is suitable for cracker drying is tray dryer combined with solar
energy and biomass stove as the energy sources.
The objectives of this research are to design a hyigienic drying building
the solar energy and wood biomass. In this research, the heat from frying and
steaming are conducted by heat exchanger made of clay and end to a
chimney. The building is made of wall equipped by ventilator. Polycarbonate
is used for the roof because it can trap the long wave from sunlight and utilize
the greenhouse effect. Step in this research that is determine the building
capacities, building of flue height, size wood biomass stove, sum up the heat
exchanger, thick of wall, and sum up ventilator
The size of drying is 450 cm x 350 cm x 300 cm. The heat exchanger
needed has 34 in amount and the thickness of cement is 27,735 cm for every
side. The door thickness is 6 cm which is made of bamboo webbing. The
ventilator needed is 2 in amount and 12 inch in size.
