Description
Summary:Bener Reservoir construction is an initial plan that will function for the purposes of irrigation, electric power, etc. The hydroelectric power is in the Bogowonto River. Since the buildings are constructed with very high costs, the dam must meet the necessary design volume, safety, and the spillway should be able to pass over the flood discharge plan. To support the work of Bener Dams, modeling is then conducted. This modeling was done in the Hydraulics Laboratory of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Gadjah Mada University with a scale of 1: 100. This study aimed to compare the results of the analysis and experiment of the spillway in order to get the illustration of the hydraulic safety of the dam. The model simulations performed at several time in periodic flood of two annual discharges to the maximum flood discharge (QPMF), so that the exact illustration of the hydraulic behavior of the spillway structure can be discovered. Based on the result, it was known that the spillway capacity of the building is still within the safety limits, but there are some differences between the results of the analysis and the measurement of the water level in the existing models, especially in the discharge channel . It is because of the unevenness of the water flow that pass through the transition channel which caused by the bending water flow by the transition channel and ultimately causing the cross flow. Overall, the simulation model is still needed for further evaluation to investigate the hydraulic phenomenons that occured.
