Summary:Power distribution control centers require reliable communication system in order to carry out its function in the process of monitoring, controlling, retrieval and collection of the necessary data from the substation and the keypoint which is entirely through means of telecommunication. The acquisition and data collection process was done using a SCADA system (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), so any kind of interference can be monitored easily. SCADA systems can use a variety of telecommunications facilities, one of them via a wireless network. One type of device used in the research of wireless communication medium is MikroTik. Wireless Mikrotik used here as a medium of communication in SCADA systems in PT PLN (PERSERO) APD Jateng &DIY to the Krapyak substation using Wireless Point-to-Point method networks through WiFi (Wireless Fidelity) 2.4 GHz as an alternative communication medium of Fiber Optic which have been used.
