| description | Yogyakarta city and Surakarta have different characteristics from the spatial structure. This difference affect on Trans Jogja and Batik Solo Trans in those cities. This research have aims: 1) to know the differences of spatial structure in Yogyakarta City and Surakarta, 2) to determine differences service characteristics on Batik Solo Trans and Trans Jogja, 3) identify the influence of the spatial structure against services from Trans Jogja and Batik Solo Trans, and 4) to analyze alternative development requirements for Trans Jogja bus services and Batik Solo Trans.
The method used is quantitative and qualitative descriptions to determine the characteristic structure of urban spatial structure and services Bus Rapid Transit. And then, to determine the effect of the urban spatial structure against the bus services using network analyst. Collecting data research with: observation and measurement, interview, and documentation. Sampling used purposive sampling, from respondents in permanent shelter that passed by Trans Jogja and Batik Solo Trans in the boundary of Yogyakarta City and Surakarta.
The result of this research 1) spatial structure in Yogyakarta City with concentric design that can make many Trans Jogja route through the city center. Meanwhile, the urban structure of Surakarta with grid design that make Batik Solo Trans spread the movement into all over the town. 2) The performance of Trans Jogja and Batik Solo Trans have different characteristics on travel time, distance between shelters, coverage area, number of passengers a day, and operational time. 3) The coverage of shelter Trans Jogja has high affordability. Whereas, for shelter Batik Solo Trans has low affordability. 4) Some proposed to ascend Bus Rapid Transit in Yogyakarta City and Surakarta needs a performance evaluation and increase the coverage of buses, so as to meet the movement of people. |
