| description | Background: Hypertension is a great risk factor cause the cardiovascular and
cererovascular disease. This is related to frequency of failure in hypertension
management by the patients. Yogyakarta has a high prevalence of hypertension in
which 1451 people were medically diagnosed had a hypertension.
Objective: To determine the relationship between family support with the success
of hypertension management among patients with hypertension in Klinik Dokter
Keluarga UGM.
Methods : This study is a non-exprimental study with cross-sectional design.
Number of subjects in this study was 37 respondents which taken with total
sampling technique. The data were collected using quessionaire to define the
family support. The data of blood pressure were collected with direct
measurement by auscultation. The comparation test was conducted with chisquare.
Result : Patients who have high levels of family support is 20 people (54.1%), 17
of the 20 respondents had controlled blood pressure, and 3 respondents were not
controlled. Whereas patients who have medium family support is 17 people
(45.9%), 16 of 17 respondents have uncontrolled blood pressure and 1 respondent
controlled.. In comparation test , p value was found equal to 0,000 (p=0,01).
Conclusion There is a relationship between level of family support obtained by
hypertension patients in Klinik Dokter Keluarga UGM and the success of
hypertension management. |
