Summary: | Some of problems related to a common soil in the field is the swelling pressure of
expansive soil. The various value of the dry unit weight (γd) and moisture content (w) on the
soil resulting in different swelling pressure. In addition to determine the value of swelling
pressure using Geonor Swelling Test is difficult.
In this study the value of swelling pressure will be determined the soil samples using
Geonor Swelling Test with disturb samples of Kulon Progo, Ngawi, Bantul and variation of
moisture content and different dry unit weight. In addition there is a guide to determine the
value of swelling pressure using a Geonor Swelling Test.
The results of the research is an expansive soil samples with high levels of potential
swelling into very high. Swelling pressure is influenced by the moisture contained in the
sample, the smaller of water content affect the value of swelling pressure. The maximum
swelling pressure obtained was 79 t/m2 with 0% water content, the dry unit weight 1.1 gr/cm3
with clay soils high in soil samples from Ngawi, East Java. In addition, this study also
generate a module operation of Geonor Swelling Test.
