description | Transportation is an important process in the livestock industry in the process
of transporting and marketing goats. The aim of this research is to find out the
physiology responds such as the change of body temperature, pulsus frequency, and
breath frequency on the goats. Etawah goats are stressful because of the short
transportation. The research used six Etawah goats aged 2 years old, healty and have
never given a birth are used in this research. The Goats are transported using open
pick-up sized 2x3m. The length of the travel is 1 hour with the distance between two
regencies is 35 km with the speed 36km/hour. Body temperature, pulsus frequency,
and breath frequency was done before the transportation, after arriving in Nanggulan
and 7 days after the transportation. The analyzed data is the body temperature, breath
frequency and pulsus frequency. The data then analyzed using T-test. The result of
the research shows that the body temperature measurement increases to 39,5oC,
breath frequency increases to 51 times/minute, and pulsus frequency increases to
82,83 times/minute after transporting (P<0,05). The conclusion of this research is
transporting for an hour can increase the body temperature, breath frequency and
pulsus frequency (P<0,05). |
