Summary: | Automation of cans separator base on ATMega16 was designed to identify
and separate metal and nonmetal object. this system use MD3003B1 metal
detector as the metal sensor, photodiode as presence sensor , ATmega 16,and
LCD to display the free space of the storage.
The system design uses a metal detector MD 3003B1 metal that acts as a
sensor, the output of the metal used as a voltage sensor switches to drive the servo
motor. Number of servo motors are used in this system there are 2 pieces, both
are used to drive the mechanical doors, servo1r as the mechanics driver for
upper doors and servo2 motors as propulsion mechanical door bottom. When the
sensor detects the presence of the object, servo motor 1 will be active and lead
the object to slider, then the object will slide down to the bottom mechanics door.
When the object arrives at the bottom mechanics door, sensor will detect the
presence of objects, if an object is detected the process will be forwarded to the
metal detection process, if the object was not detected, the process will back to
objects detection process in the mechanical door. Metal detection process takes
place at the bottom mechanic door using a metal detector, the output of the metal
detector is used to determine the direction of movement of the servo2, which acts
as a mechanical drive for bottom door. If the metal detector detects metal objects
the bottom mechanical door will put the metal object into the tank, otherwise if
the metal detector does not detect metal objects the bottom mechanical door will
put the object to the non-metallic tanks.
After the sorage filled with object, system will monitor the free space of the
storage use presence that set as a parameter of the storage capacity, then the
state of the storage will be displayed in LCD screen.
This device will work properly if the object slide smoothly The information
displayed on the LCD in the form of state filling the tub with a writing format
"empty", "medium", and "full". Limitations on the design of these device results in
limitations in the processing of waste so that the device can not be applied
directly in the industry.
