damage the ecosystem in the water and the surrounding environment. In this case,
the writer specializing in the treatment of waste water from industry. As known,
industrial activity is very high and it causes a lot of waste. Waste water
characteristics of these activities contains high suspended solids and oil. Until
now, there are some tools that can process the waste properly, such as Dissolved
Air Floatation (DAF) and Belt Press. But these tools become less effective when
the waste water treatment containing oil because it will make the chemical
process in the DAF to be imperfect.
Basically, the working principle of the oil separator is the difference in
specific gravity. The density of water is greater than the density of the oil, so the
water will be at the bottom and the oil will be at the top when the separation
occurs, then the oil that have been collected will be distributed or disposed to the
sludge tank. To improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and eliminate the negative
effects, the authors designed this machine to separate waste oil from waste water
by Rotary disc method.
From the results of manufacturing, oil and water separator can function
as expected and effective when used. The water that comes out through the
machine is not mix with the oil and the result is environmental friendly. |
