Summary: | Artificial Insemination Program was an alternative to get the cow with a
better genetic level. However, Artificial Insemination Program in local farmers
just crossing local cattle (Peranakan Ongole (PO)) with bovine simmetal as
known as Simpo. Found a problem on cow reproductive performance hybrid. The
purpose of this study to determine the reproductive performance of cows Simpo
and PO.
A total of 12 samples of Simpo and 13 samples of PO used in this study.
This study was conducted using a survey and interviews to farmers about
associated with reproductive performance include calving interval, service per
conception, estrous cycle, duration of estrus, and estrus post partum as well as
direct observation of the condition of cows. The data obtained were analyzed
statistically using T test.
The results showed cows Simpo has ranged estrus cycles 22.17 ± 2.791
days, duration of estrus 41.67 ± 18.485 hours, estrus post partum 64.58 ± 34.209
days, service per conception 2.42 ± 0.793 times and calving interval 14.00 ± 2.132
months. PO cattle showed results estrus cycles 21.77 ± 1.481 days, duration of
estrus 21.77 ± 1.481 hours, estrus post partum 63.08 ± 40.287 days, service per
conception 2.15 ± 0.689 times and calving interval of 15.54 ± 4.176 months . The
results of this study indicate that there is a difference between cows and cattle
Simpo PO on reproductive performance.
