Summary:Background: Doctors and nurses are collaborating to provide the best services to clients. Communication is the foundation of collaboration. Antibiotic therapy is of particular concern because of its use are not rational tremendous impact for world health. Security of client care requires good communication between doctors and nurses. Objective: To reveal the implementation of collaborative communication in the process of doctors and nurses antibiotic drug delivery to the client, as well as know the description of the communication process category collaboration of doctors and nurses in the administration of antibiotics on the client. Methods: A descriptive study with a survey. Cross-sectional study conducted on doctors and nurses who meet the criteria in Dr. Sardjito hospital Yogyakarta. Scale instrument nurse-physician communication and physician-nurse used in this study. Results: A total of 96% of respondents nurse in the middle category with the development of adult and 80% diploma degree in education , while 91% of respondents were physicians in the development of early adult category with 91% bachelor degree in education. Communication collaboration of doctors and nurses are in the category with the percentage of 68% (Doctor-Nurse Scale) and 80% (Nurse-Physician Scale). Category shows that doctors and nurses to communicate collaboration with frequency sometimes with more doctors and take the time initiated about 5% - 10%. Conclusion: Both scales showed communication collaboration of doctors and nurses are around the middle categtory, where communication is done with frequency sometimes. More physicians are 5% - 10% in initiating and taking time to perform collaborative communication.
