| Summary: | Old age is a time to examine and evaluate one�s life and
accomplishments in order to try and find the meaning of one�s life.
Nowdays, there are elderly who passed their life in prison. The aim of
this research is to figure out the meaning of elderly inmate�s life.
Qualitative methode with case study approach were applied. Data was
collected through depth interview and observation with two eldery
inmates. Data were then given coding and processed to find specific
themes. This research showed that the eldery inmates defined as living
in a prison of suffering. The first subject received his sentence so that
he could see the wisdom behind the suffering itself. By serving his
sentence, the first subject could get time to deepen religious
knowledge. Through full religious comprehension he managed to find
the meaning of his life. While the other subject can not accept his
punishment and can not see the wisdom behind the agony. The second
subject is only focusing on the suffering that can not reach meaning in
his life. |
