Summary: | Stability of power system relates to the power balance in the system. When
there is a change of power, rotor will swing thus affecting power angle, rotation
speed, frequency and stability of the system.
Unbalanced load causes instantaneous power of generator containing
sinusoidal component. To determine the effect of the sinusoidal component, the
relationship between power angle and the instantaneous power should be known.
The relationship is determined by symmetrical component method.
The relationship between power angle and instantaneous power is applied
to a swing equation. Its influence on angle, frequency, rotational speed and
steady state stability can be obtained by mean off linearized swing equation.
The results showed that the increase of unbalanced load lead to the
increase in oscillation of power angle, frequency and rotational speed of the
generator. Damping caused by sinusoidal component became larger have the
frequency twice of system frequency. The Increase of unbalanced load also
decreased the steady state stability limit.
