Summary:An electronic nose is defined as an instrument that detects for discrimination of odours, like olfactory system in human nose. This instrument is designed to detect formalin in the food product, especially �tofu�. The aim of artificial olfaction machine design is to find the best recommendation method, suitable with formalin detection instrument. The system consists of two part, electronic module and pattern recognition systems.The electronic module is a typical application system, consisting of Arduino Uno R3 board,with ATMega 328 chip. In the pattern recognition system, is programmed in Matlab language using LRMA (Linear Regression Moving Average) for pre processing, wavelet and PCA (Principle Component Analysis) for feature extraction, and SVM (Support Vector Machines) combined with FCM (Fuzzy C Means) for analysis method. Results of pattern recognition of the learning data,that show maximum value is the highest level of recognitions in the form of the circle with a 100% of accuracy. Whereas pattern recognition of unlearning data, the obtainedaccuracy was 98.33%.
