Summary: | One species of bamboo much grown in the the community forest of
Ngandong Hamlet, Girikerto Village, Turi District, Sleman Regency, DIY.is kinds
of bamboo apus (Gigantochloa apus Kurz.). The objectives of this research are (1)
count the content of biomass and carbon stored in bamboo apus (Gigantochloa
apus Kurz.), (2) composing an equation of allometrik biomass and carbon bamboo
apus (Gigantochloa apus Kurz.), (3) examine the potential of biomass and carbon
bamboo apus (Gigantochloa apus Kurz.), (4) examine the potential bamboo apus
absorption of co2 in the forest community.
Methods used in this research is a method of destructive by excavating one
cluster of bamboo apus to compose allometric of biomass and carbon bamboo
apus. The content of biomass obtained by drying the samples the weight of dry
constant at a temperature of 1030±20C for stem organs, branches, and roots, while
for organ leaves and peel successively at a temperature of 800±20C and 600±20C
Any carbon content analysis through a method of wakley and black.
This research resulted that the carbon content of biomass in dbh 6,5 cm
for trunk organs: 48,84% (6,718kg/stem), root organs: 49,62% (1,130kg/stem),
branch organs: 46,25% (0,876kg/stem), leaf organs: 45.75% (0,442kg/stem) and
peel organs: 46,38% (0,143kg/stem). Allometric equation obtained to count
biomass total is Bt=0,018(D2H)0,987 with (R=0,953). Allometric equation obtained
for calculating any carbon content the total is Ct=0,008 (D2H)1,003 with
(R2=0,929). The potential of biomass of total bamboo apus is (83,51-234,99)
ton/ha and total carbon total (41,23-116,23) ton/ha. Based on the potential of
carbon, the absorption CO2 bamboo apus is (275,19-302,711 ) ton/ha.
