Summary:In this paper, we apply the direct method of calculus variation to the density functional theory of Bloch electrons in a semiconductor with a particular external potential. Energy functional on Bloch electron system is the mass tensor. The existence of minimizer has been demonstrated, the minimizer ��=� 0 + �where �� �� �,� and ��� ��,�. Minimizer explicit form is calculated by the Ritz method through a convergent sequence density.
