Summary:Asthma is a respiratory disease and is often found to be a problem in the community and requires the selection and use of appropriate medications to reduce the frequency of asthma attacks. One effort to reduce the frequency of asthma attacks in order to achieve therapeutic success is to improve patient compliance in taking the drug. Proper counseling by pharmacists and rewarding expected to improve treatment adherence and can provide maximum therapeutic results. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of pharmacist counseling on adherence and treatment outcomes, and to determine the correlation of compliance and therapeutic outcomes of asthma patients in hospital outpatient Yogyakarta Special Lung Respira. The research method uses quasi experimental design with a control group design with pretest post test. Patients who got antiasma divided into two groups: patients who received counseling from researchers (treatment group) and patients without receiving counseling (control group). The data was collected by conducting interviews and questionnaires adherence MMAS (MoriskynMedication Adherence Scale) while using the therapeutic outcome assessment questionnaires ACT (Asthma Control Test). Providing counseling in the treatment group performed twice -face by researchers at the first and fourth week, providing counseling in the control group performed the fourth week of the study. Number of test subjects 100 patients, consisting of 50 treatment group and 50 control group. Analysis of statistical tests used were Wilcoxon to see changes in the average score of adherence and treatment outcomes before and after counseling from each group p=0.000 (α<0,05). Mann Whitney test was conducted to determine differences in mean scores and results of treatment adherence and counseling control group p=0.000 (α<0,05). Correlation test results demonstrate compliance and therapeutic outcomes are positive and significant relationship between MMAS and ACT category (p=0.000
