Description
Summary:Background :As much 750,000 new cases occurs each year with the mortality number reaches 250,000 of the total. From that number, 15-30 % patients have a permanent disability (Dion, 2004). Patients with lower GCS were significantly more likely to have more severe strokes, to have decreased functional outcome (Weaver etet al.,2012) Objectives :This research is aimed to find out whether or not level of consciousness (GCS) plays role in determining functional outcome (Barthel Index) in patients with stroke in Yogyakarta especially in RSUD Sardjito. Method :Cohort Retrospective method for 128 sample of stroke patients in unit stroke RSUD Sardjito. The patients taken from January 2010 until December 2012.Bivariate and multivariate analysis was done. Results : Bivariate analysis between dependent and independent showed that the p value for GCS is p= 0,616
