Summary: | Background: Mosquito is one of the insect that can
cause problems to human because it has a role as a
disease vector such as Dengue Fever, Malaria,
Philariasis and Chikungunya disease. Population density
of mosquito is affected by a potential breeding place.
Mosquito is interested to bright light (day time), dark
colored clothes, the existence of humans or animal, the
attraction of mosquitos to humans is caused by the CO2
which is let go by the human body, amino acid, warm
environment temperature and moisture.
Objective: To understand the influences of environment
(rain density, temperature, CO2 concentration,
lightning and air moisture) to mosquitos population
(Diptera: Culidiae) in Yogyakarta city area.
Methods: This research was executed with the cross
sectional design using pure observation from the
research subject environment.
The results: Environment has a influence to the
population density of vector mosquito Dengue fever, but
there are still many other factors that influence to
population density of vector mosquito. There for, the
influence of rain density, temperature, CO2
concentration, lightning and air moisture, has only
little effect to the population growth of vector
mosquito.
Conclusion: There is an influence between environment
(rain density, temperature, CO2 concentration,
lightning and air moisture) and population density of
vector mosquito Dengue fever although the effect is not
strong statistically.
